Why Guardian Angel exists

Help shouldn't depend on reaching a phone.

Most falls don't end when the person hits the floor. They end hours, sometimes days, later, when someone finally notices. Emergency rooms have a name for it: the long lie.

A senior on the kitchen floor after a fall; the phone on the counter shows Guardian Angel has already alerted his caregiver

He never reached the phone. Help was already on the way.

1 in 4adults 65+ falls every year, and most falls happen at home
Every 11 secondsan older adult is treated in a U.S. emergency room for a fall
300,000+hip-fracture hospitalizations each year in the U.S.
The long liemore than an hour on the floor brings dehydration, pressure ulcers, hypothermia and pneumonia. Research shows half of those who lie helpless that long don't survive the following six months
"She went out to let the dog out, fell in the yard, and couldn't get up. She lay outside for 48 hours, two nights, until a neighbor happened to see her through the window and called 911. She survived. Many in that situation don't."
Emergency-room account
"The fall breaks the hip. The floor does the rest: dehydration, pressure sores, the kidneys shutting down. By the time someone thinks to check on them, we're not treating a fall anymore. We're treating the wait."
Emergency-room account

Real accounts from an emergency-room nurse; details changed to protect privacy. Statistics: CDC & National Council on Aging.

"My wife is an emergency-room nurse. For years she came home with these stories: people found on the floor after days, ten feet from a phone that couldn't help them. Her background in medicine and mine in technology collided over one of those conversations, and Guardian Angel is what came out of it. A check-in that never comes should never go unnoticed. We built this together, hoping it saves even one life."

The family behind Guardian Angel

How it works

Three minutes to set up. A lifetime of knowing.

No cameras. No wearables. No tech skills required from your loved one. Just their phone and two big friendly buttons.

1

They live their life

Your loved one checks in with one big tap: "I'm Okay." The screen is designed for older eyes and hands: large buttons, spoken prompts, their own language.

2

Guardian Angel quietly watches

Our servers monitor check-ins around the clock, not the phone, so it works even when the phone is locked, asleep, or forgotten on the couch.

3

You know the moment it matters

If they go quiet too long, press SOS, take a fall, or miss their medication, an alert lands on your phone with their last known location.

The core promise

Silence is the loudest alarm.

Most emergencies aren't a dramatic phone call. They're a quiet morning where nobody heard anything. Guardian Angel is built around one idea: if your loved one goes silent, you should never be the last to know.

  • Checks run on our servers every 5 minutes, not dependent on their phone being awake
  • Alerts are marked Time-Sensitive: they cut through your lock screen and Do Not Disturb
  • Every alert carries their last known location with one-tap directions

Questions families ask

The honest answers.

Does my parent need to be good with technology?

No. Their entire experience is two large buttons: a green "I'm Okay" and a red SOS. The app speaks reminders out loud in their language, and you control every setting remotely.

What happens if their phone is locked or asleep?

Inactivity monitoring runs on our servers, not on their phone, so it keeps working no matter what state their phone is in. Fall detection uses the phone's motion sensors while the app is open on screen.

Will I actually notice the alert at night?

Yes. Alerts are sent as Time-Sensitive notifications, the category iOS reserves for things that matter. They break through your lock screen and can break through Do Not Disturb.

Do they need a smartwatch or extra hardware?

No. Guardian Angel works with the iPhone they already own. An Apple Watch with Apple's built-in fall detection pairs beautifully alongside it if you want 24/7 wrist-based fall coverage.

Is my family's data private?

Yes. Location is only captured for alerts and emergencies, never for tracking. Your data is never sold or shared.

When can I download it?

Guardian Angel is in final testing and coming soon to the App Store. This page will have the download link the moment it's live.
